"Magical memories !"
A review of Raglan Junior School by Nobby - Saturday 8th of March 2008
Stumbled upon this page and it has brought back magical memories of my early childhood. I attended your school from about 1961 until my family moved to Cornwall in 1966 and often wonder how some of my old friends are and what they are up to. I used to live in Lynmouth Avenue and my mother also attended your school when Miss Berry was the Headmistress. Unfortunately I can only remember one of my teachers by name which was a Mr Donnahoe (not sure of the spelling !)and remember him as a tall thin chap with a moustache. I would walk to Raglan every day as it was just up the road, sometimes having to follow the fences as I can still remember the last of the London 'smog' and not being able to see your hand in front of your face and how quiet it made it as there were no cars able to travel in it. I can also remember catching Stag beetles that used to live in the bank leading up to the railings in the playing field of the school. I could go on but suffice to say that this has stirred many happy memories for which you have my thanks and I wish you and all current and ex pupils of Raglan all the very best.
