"I have been going to The Rose for over 6 years now"

I have experienced it changes for better and for worse. However, I went there last Friday and enjoyed the best meal in the 6 years yet. They have a new West End Chef who worked in a famous Indian restaurant in Holborn (The Chambeli) for 16 years. The food was marvellous. Great presentation, taste and just the right amount. The service was also brilliant, very quick and helpful yet not too assertive.
