"Prepare for flooded bathroom and tiny room"
A review of Holiday Inn Bloomsbury by GD Sand - Tuesday 25th of March 2008
One of the worst hotel experiences ever, apart from the restaurant which offered the best food in six days of dining all over UK. Room is tiny, barely 18 inches between foot of bed and wall, less between one side of bed and closet. Fridge doesn't work at all. Worst part is bathroom, with substandard shower, width maybe 20 inches and flimsy shower curtain kept blowing toward my body, sticking and making difficult to shower, without directing water toward curtain to keep it away from me. Due to constant blowing and narrow width, curtain collapses inward at either end resulting in flooded floor. We were prepared to spend 5 more nights here upon our return to london, but immediately determined we would not upon seeing the room. Unless you very skinny, stay away. The staff is another story altogether, almost everyone obviously from Germany, where I suppose the owners/franchisees reside, and could barely understand our requests (internet was down and we needed tech support) or communicate to us clearly. Were we in Germany, this would have been understandable, but here in london, this is unacceptable. Enjoy flooded baths, fine; otherwise, keep away.
