We thank councillors Graham Coombes and Phil Jennings who represent the Hornfair with Kidbrooke Ward for the Conservatives in the London Borough of Greenwich. They are helping us to try and obtain another bus route to serve the Busy Rochester way in Kidbrooke which is also surrounded by housing estates including the large Brook Estate on both side of Rochester Way in Kidbrooke. We are trying to get a bus service to link Kidbrooke Rochester Way with Lee Green, Lewisham Town Centre, The Queen Elizabeth Hospital and Woolwich Town Centre. Including the new Woolwich Arsenal DLR Station due to open in very early 2009. The area currently has no direct bus to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Woolwich or Lewisham. Only route 286 currently serves Rochester Way between Sidcup Queen Marys Hospital and Greenwich (Cutty Sark) via Eltham High Street providing a decent bus link to Eltham. But residents have to travel to the Queen Elizabeth Hoispital at Woolwich, which is difficult for everyone in the area and not forgetting the elderly, disabled, young parents with children and those on low incomes who cannot afford mini cabs. We thank councillors Graham Coombes and Phil Jennings for there continued support.
