"Where can I go now?"
A review of Oriental City by Val Carter - Saturday 12th of July 2008
I loved Oriental City. I ate huge portions of tasty foods which I cannot get locally and then wandered around the food supermarket buying lots of packets and jars of unusual foods for me to try later at home. Then I would look in all the individual little shops (usually buying more bits and pieces - last time it was a beautiful beaded evening bag and a small happy buddha). Each time it was a different and wonderful experience. I cannot believe it has gone. Who allowed this to happen? What happened to all the lovely people who worked there? Where can I go now to experience this very unique and atmospheric slice of life? I am sad and angry that this is no longer available to me or to future generations.
