"Must eat to have a drink??!!!"

A review of Cafe Fred by Emma - Saturday 9th of December 2006

A friend and I visited London for the day on 25th November 2006 and we decided to stop for a drink. I have arthritis in one hip and welcomed the rest. Although it was busy I was more than happy to climb the very steep and narrow steps to have a rest along with a coffee and slice of cake. However when a waitress came to take our order we were told we were unable to have anything unless we bought a meal and very curtly told us we must leave. Before my friend and I had a chance to leave our seats the waitress had already sent other people to our table. Unfortunately I will not be visiting the cafe again which is a shame because it looks so nice outside, unfortunately a nice looking exterior does not compensate for rude staff.
