"Nice coffee, rude and insulting staff"
A review of Cafe Vergnano by Englishgirl - Sunday 14th of December 2008
Re Charing Cross branch.
The coffee was nice, but the staff were rude and offensive and provided some of the worst service I have ever had in London.
Examples inlcude:
- we asked if there was a toilet. There wasn't. We expressed surprise and received a two minute rant off the waitress "we only work here. We make the coffee, call the boss, I can't build a toilet" and this was repeated a few times over.
- we hadn't finished our drinks and a waitress was trying to clear them away from beneath us and trying to hurry us along.
- soon after we had finished, the waitress asked us to leave as people were waiting for tables. I don't disagree with her request, it was a busy Saturday after all. But it was the way in which she asked "right, you have to go now, people are waiting and you can't stay here..." and so on.
