Barnards Inn


22, Holborn. (EC1) Anciently Mackworth's, from having belonged to Dr. John Mackworth, Dean of Lincoln, temp. Henry VI, was next occupied by one Barnard, when it was converted into an Inn of Chancery. Peter Woulfe, the eminent chemist, a Fellow of the Royal Society, died here. (Reference: Timbs's Curiosities of London, p. 471)
