Beak Street

156, Regent Street. (W1) A short thoroughfare from Regent Street to Silver Street, etc. The site of these crowded neighbourhoods was once called Pesthouse Fields. In these fields stood a lazaretto used during the dreadful plague of the year 1665. (Tallis's London Street Views)
