City, 80, Cheapside. (EC4) So named from a manor and tenements pertaining to one Buckle, who dwelt there, and kept his courts. (Reference: Kingsford's Stow, vol. I, p. 259) Was a noted place for grocers and apothecaries, drug pushers and farriers. (Reference: Timbs's Curiosities of London, p. 75)
