Cannon Row

Westminster. (SW1) According to Stow, it derives its name from the Canons of St. Stephen's Chapel, who were anciently lodged here; while others seem inclined to trace it to a branch, or channel, of the Thames, which in former times ran between the north end of the Row and Privy Gardens.
