Foster Lane

City. (EC2) Said very curiously to have been originally named St. Vedast's. It is, however, referred to in a document of 1281 as St. Fauster's, which seems to be a corruption of St. Vedast's. Before the Great Fire the lane contained the shops of many goldsmiths and jewellers.
