Holborn. (WC1) So called as belonging to the Gray family, "appears to have been a goodly house since Edward III's time." (Reference: Strype's Stow, vol. I, p. 730) Was originally the residence of the noble family of Gray of Wilton. (Reference: Timbs's Curiosities of London, p. 469)
