Leicester Square


(WC2) Named from the Earls of Leicester, who lived here. Here also lived two or three great painters. Sir Joshua Reynolds at No. 47, and died there. Hogarth also lived and died in a house on the east side of the square. (Reference: Jesse's London, vol. I, p. 317)
