Maddox Street


221, Regent Street. (W1) Built by the Earl of Burlington in 1721, and named after the ground-landlord, Sir Benjamin Maddox. At the end of this street is the Church of St. George's, Hanover Square, where a great number of fashionable marriages are celebrated. (Tallis's London Street Views)
