St. Annes Lane


Westminster, 30, Great Peter Street. (SW1) Named from the Chapel of the Mother of Our Lady. Was part of the orchard and fruit-gardens of the Abbey. Henry Purcell and Dr. Heather, the famous musicians, lived here ; also Robert Herrick, the poet. (Reference: Timbs's Curiosities of London, p. 821)
