Wellington Street
Strand. (WC2) A short but broad opening to Waterloo Bridge. The name of Waterloo was given to this structure by Parliament in 1816, as the finest monument for one of the greatest victories recorded in history up to that date. It was opened on June 18, 1817. (Tallis's London Street Views) |
