Westminster Hall

(SW1) The old hail of the palace of our Kings at Westminster. Originally erected in the reign of William Rufus, it was incorporated by Sir Charles Barry into the new Houses of Parliament to serve as their vestibule. The early Parliaments and the still earlier Grand Councils were often held in this hail. Here also were formerly the Law Courts of England.
