Fire of London

About Fire of London

The Fire of London - the Great Fire of 1666 commenced at the house of the "King's Baker," in Pudding Lane, and extended to Pye Corner, near Smithfield. Eighty nine churches were burnt, and about 13,200 dwelling houses, and 460 streets. It was said to be caused by a conspiracy of Papists, but this is now generally disbelieved.
