With over 900 years of royal history at Windsor Castle this is a Royal attraction not to be missed . Perched high above the River Thames, just outside of London.The Queen and her family spend most of their private weekends at Windsor Castle. The Queen is also officially in residence throughout April and June, when the annual Garter Service is held in St George's Chapel.

When Can I Go?


November to February: 9.45am - 4.15pm (last admission 3:00pm)

(Windsor Castle is open daily throughout the year, with a few exceptions when the Castle is in use for official functions)

On 24 & 26 September 2014, The Castle will close early at 4.00pm, last admission will be at 3.00pm.


Windsor Castle Completely Closed:

25 & 26 December 2014

St George's Chapel Closed:

23 December 2014 (St George's Chapel closed from 1:00pm)

24 to 26 December 2014 (St George's Chapel will be open for worshippers only)

*St. George's Chapel is closed to visitors on Sundays as services are held throughout the day. Worshippers are welcome to attend the services.
