Boisdale of Belgravia

About Boisdale of Belgravia

If the thought of Scottish cuisine means haggis and little else, then pay a visit to Boisdale and prepare to be converted. Of course, they do serve McSween’s Haggis, but you will find plenty of dishes to appeal if it’s not your bag. The atmosphere is masculine and clubby with dark green and lacquer red panelling, dark wood floors and interesting paintings. Where possible, the ingredients used in the dishes are sourced directly from Scotland and the vegetables procured from organic suppliers. What’s cooking? A blend of traditional and modern British cooking. House specialities include carpaccio of Rannoch Moor hot smoked wild highland venison with a black truffle dressing, grilled Orkney king scallops, crispy pancetta and braised fennel with saffron beurre blanc, fresh game and fish. Bread and butter pudding with warm custard and raspberry coulis, raspberry cranachan. The menu also includes the delightful Edwardian idea of savouries such as scotch woodcock and scrambled eggs with black truffles.
