I am a local primary school teacher and we have developed very strong links with the staff at Minnie Bennett house over the last few years. The children have visited the day centre on numerous occassions, and had discussion groups with the elderly ladies and gentlemen. The first hand knowledge of the history of the local area is invaluable - and the stories they tell the children are amazing - better than any history books!

They also have some artifacts, including a mangle, which they discuss and I suggest if anyone has any artefacts to add to their collection please donate them - they will be used to help the local primary children to understand the social history of the area. .
