"Great place next to another great place"

Trained at Dave's in the 980s. I remember seeing the Fabulous Frankie Jakeman squatting and pressing around the time he was in EastEnders as a male stripper. A great place with a great vibe. I sometimes spotted for Jim, the big blue eyed doorman at the Astoria. Big paddy with black hair and a bunch of tattoos. Had a crazy girlfriend. His second names escapes me. We all trained hard and had a real laugh. The Finlandia Sauna a few doors down was also a great place to go and 'unwind' after a session. Good luck to anyone who trains at this gym. It's a local institution..
