My name is Peter Beckwith.

I started at Sudbourne in 1949 and was welcomed into Miss Broadbridge's class.

We used slates and chalk. Head Mistress was Miss Ogilvey

Mr. Newham was Head of Juniors and had a dog called Mandy. School mascot.

Later teacher was Mr. Howell. Mr. Lawes in Juniors.

Other teachers I remember were Mr. Wakeman. Miss Laundry. Mrs. Martin, née Haynes.

I remember all day cricket in the playground.

My late brother, Norman joined the school a year after me. He spoke well of his teacher, Mr. Allen..
