"Animals die daily from plastic bags"

I was very disappointed when Sainsbury's stopped giving customers a penny for re-using a carrier bag. Surely this was a step in the right direction! Now there are notices at the checkouts asking people to reuse their bags but they have very little impact in my opinion. Every time I shop I see people taking new bag after bag--yesterday the woman in front of me took 11!!!!!!

Surely the time has come for Sainsbury's to take a more positive approach to this subject? How about photographs of animals dying in the Pacific Ocean having eaten or become ensnared by plastic bags?
