What a lovely restaurant and great food.

Went to the Green Pea, for the first time, to celebrate my sister's 40th birthday, as there were quite a few of us we were able to have 'the run' of the whole restaurant, this added to the charm of the place straight away. There was a great sofa seated area where we waited before being seated for our meal. We were greeted, cooked for and served by the chef / owner Tommy, who was very friendly and made us feel welcome. He sat with us, described his entire wonderful menu and gave us time to decide what we wanted to order, there was so much mouth-watering choice we were spoilt. The food is described as traditional, I haven't eaten food like this in a very long time, it was exceptional cooking, mouth-watering, scrummy and very filling, real food!!!! Everything was home made, freshly cooked and appeared to be organic. Starters were fantastic which still left you with space for your main meal. I had the fish pie, real tasty chunks of fish with mushrooms and leek, fresh vegetables and roast potatoes. There were even tastier Shanks of Lamb, Cottage Pie (made with Guinness), Chicken Breast, Steak and Ale Pie going around, with all of us saying 'go on try this it's lovely'. Don't get me started on the puddings....oh my god!......fudge cake, apple pie, bakewell and almond tart and a mmmmmmmm yummy apple crumble. When we had all finished we relaxed with drinks and were not rushed out in anyway, infact my family all left before my husband and I and we were able to finish our drinks peacefully, we chatted with Tommy for a while and then headed off home, totally stuffed and contented. We all had a lovely evening and would totally recommend this place.

To let you know that you will find Green Pea attached to Hardy's pub. I walked straight passed it! And you don’t wanna do that, believe me.
