263, Strand (WC2) An Inn of Chancery belonging to the Inner Temple, said to stand nearly on the site of an ancient hostelry, or inn, erected in the reign of King Ethelred for the accommodation of the pilgrims who visited St. Clement's Well, whose waters were supposed to be peculiarly efficacious in the cure of cutaneous and other disorders.
