About Lincolns Inn Fields

Lincolns Inn Fields is the largest public square in London and rests on the border between the London Borough of Camden and the City of Westminster. It adjoins Lincoln's Inn; at one time it was an open waste used for military exercises, public executions, etc.

It measures the size of the base of one of the large pyramids in Egypt. William, Lord Russell, was beheaded here in 1683. Since 1895 when it was acquired by the London County Council, Lincolns Inn Fields has been freely to the public, and is popular among the inhabitants of the overcrowded streets in the neighbourhood.
