Lincolns Inn Fields

About Lincolns Inn Fields

Lincolns Inn Fields is the largest public square in London and rests on the border between the London Borough of Camden and the City of Westminster. It adjoins Lincoln's Inn; at one time it was an open waste used for military exercises and public executions.

It measures the size of the base of one of the large pyramids in Egypt. William, Lord Russell, was beheaded here in 1683. It was acquired in 1895 by the London County Council, and ever since Lincolns Inn Fields has been open to the public.
