About Lord Mayors Show

Lord Mayors Show is one of London's best known and oldest events. It is essentially a procession through the Ward over which the elected Lord Mayor presides as Alderman. The show takes place annually on the 9th November, starting at 11 am and finishing at 2.30 pm.

The actual procession begins at the Guildhall, and the Lord Mayor joins it as from his official residence, Mansion House. When the procession reaches St Paul's Cathedral, the Mayor receives a blessing from the Dean. He then proceeds to the Royal Courts of Justice in Westminster, where he takes the oath of allegiance. The procession returns from Temple Place and on his return to Mansion House, the Mayor is welcomed by the Corporation of London.
