About Poisson Rouge, The Wine Challenge
The Wine Challenge is one of Poisson Rouge’s most popular team building activities. It provides participants with a unique team-based experience, creates tremendous energy and excitement, is a lot of fun and provides a strategic framework for the development of a range of team-based skills and disciplines.
Teams are briefed that they have currently taken over a failing wine company and that they have to turn the fortunes of the company around. The teams’ task is to create a brand new wine by blending different amounts of the ’good’ and ’bad’ wines that they are given.
To do so, each team must identify their target markets and then develop a brand identity; create a blend; select appropriate packaging (i.e. bottle, cork, foil, label etc), determine a pricing policy and then actually produce a finished sample bottle using the equipment provided.
As a finale - each team must make a 3-minute presentation of their sales and marketing strategy and perform a TV commercial that must involve singing a jingle with all team members taking part!
