About Foliage

toptable Dining Awards 2007 - Runner-up: Best Food category

Reputedly one of the grandest hotels in London built in 1889 and overlooking Hyde Park, Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park proudly offers its signature restaurant, Foliage. Since its opening this restaurant has quickly established itself on the London restaurant scene and deservedly boasts a Michelin star to prove it. This vibrant restaurant brings much of the beauty that Hyde Park has to offer into its interior through its contemporary design, thanks to Adam Tihany, as well as offering spectacular views from the inside out over the Royal parkland. A dining room of distinction - unstuffy, friendly yet professional staff provide a more than pleasant dining experience whether it be for lunch or dinner. Expect to find leisure and business travellers alike here as well as the odd celeb and those who are simply passionate about food. A great stop after a great shop at Harvey Nics or Harrods perhaps. Modern European fayre which is more than kind to the palate as well as to the eye, is surprisingly very good value for money - the set lunch has a great choice of dishes, many taken from the a la carte, including our favourites of ravioli of scallops, Dublin bay prawns, asparagus, truffles and artichoke veloute, Duo foie gras, caramelised endive tart tatin, vinaigrette of leeks, and Roast line caught sea bass, potato herb gnocchi, fricasse of peas, walnut and sherry vinegar, and for dessert nothing more sexy than hot chocolate fondant, Amaretto parfait, pearl barley sorbet - don’t you agree! A winning wine list too. Open 7 days a week for lunch and dinner - offering live jazz in the Mandarin Bar every night from 9pm to accompany your after dinner tipple. We recommend this experience at least once in a lifetime!
