"Charged extra for NHS services"

I visited this dentist because it was close to work, and was charged an extra £40 for cleaning that I later discovered should have been covered by the NHS fee.
I questioned the charges at the time and was told that since this was my first visit they were charging me but it would be covered by the NHS fee on subsequent visits. I suspect other dentists would have included the cleaning with the NHS fee, so I won't be returning.
