"Fallen at the First Hurdle"

I booked a table here 2 weeks before I was due to eat, giving my name and telephone number. When I called up to check the booking 3 days beforehand they appeared to have lost all record of the conversation. They were of course full up by then and I must make alternative plans for what is supposed to be a special occasion. I cannot offer any rating on the food, atmosphere or value for what appears to be a very good restaurant (though this particular aspect of their service has not impressed). I would only advise anyone booking here to confirm it clearly at the time and take the name of the person to whom they are speaking.
