A review of Crown Woods Secondary School by June Harrison written on Saturday 14th of May 2011

My husband & I were among the first students to attend Crown Woods, we spend some time in a school in Haimo Road Eltham while waiting for Crown Woods to be finished.

Mr Ross was the headmaster and Miss Dickson was the Deputy headmistress, I remember getting told off by Miss Dickson for my blouse sleeves being rolled up and told I was not a washer women, boy what would the kids there to day say about that. Teachers I remember was Mr Tetlow, Mr. Davis, Mr Beaging, Miss Parks, I was in Windsor House and Len was is New (if I remember right. The school was lovely as everything was new and the most upto date equipment but I hear it has now been knocked down to make way for a new building, so sad for us.

Len and I met around 1961 just before he left the school I left a year later, we married in 1965 and after having two children we moved to the Midlands where we had our third chile and decided to move to South Africa in 1981 and where we still live to day in Cape Town.

We have fond memories of the old Crown Woods and all the wonderful friends we made. would love to see photos of new building and one day visit to see for ourselfs. J Harrison.
