I first went to ashpole's in the late fifty's when I was still at school. I would buy a couple of size 16 hook to nylon and 6d worth of maggots. The old man Fred use to like to chat and often let us off if we didn't have enough money. It was a very small and cluttered shop and when His son Len took over it grew to be one of the best tackle shops in north London. His brother Mike had a pet shop next door till he sold it and joined Len. .
