"Fair trade"

I recently picked up a 'Voodoo Blue' basket in a gift shop in Hay on Wye, priced £36:50.A label explained that this was a fair trade item and as the owner of the shop had no idea of its source, I am writing to you for information on how fair tade this very expensive item is.how much of this £36:50 does the worker receieve, how much does the wholesaler and the retailer receive? I hope you will agree with me that it is the responsibility of the wholesaler, retailer and consumer to assure that workers in developing countries are not being exploited.
