"Deep Blue Sea deep bluesy pleasure"

Very much enjoyed 'The Deep Blue Sea' on Saturday night - fantastic set, beautiful lighting, very touching, passionate performances. I don't entirely understand the idea of the audience questionaires we were given though (see today's Times article) as, by dint of our being there to be given the questionnaire, the marketing/publicity had worked for us! Surely the people to reach are those NOT in the theatre, despite Ms Scacchi's sterling efforts over many weeks, on radio, tv and in print, to publicise a play she was fantastic in.

I do think the idea of an independent theatre website, featuring reviews by members of the public, is a good one - it works for films, cds, books etc elsewhere (the likes of Time Out's sit do already allow for reader comments). It just needs to be set up!!! In the meantime, I hope that more and more people go to see this wonderfully staged, heart-ful production..
