Little Britain
City, Aldersgate Street. (EC1) Said to be named after the Dukes de Bretagne. This was the great emporium of the book trade, until it settled in Paternoster Row. In the year 1664 it seems that no less than 460 pamphlets were published in Little Britain. (Reference: Smith's Streets of London, p. 329) |
