This is an alphabetical list of the main towns, villages and areas in the London metropolitan area. Note that definitions of London's metropolitan area and its boundaries vary considerably. Some towns and areas that have been included are outside the official constraints of Greater London but often considered to be part of the London metropolitan area. These places would therefore (also) be in the Home Counties of Essex, Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Berkshire, Surrey, or Kent.
