This charming neighbourhood eaterie with a superb Italian menu. The decor has Edwardian ’formal’ charm, with wonderfully deep carpets, panelled walls and ceilings, and ornate chandeliers. But the menu is confident and focused Italian cooking, with many ingredients sourced from different regions of Italy. The seasonally-changing menu may includes dishes like starter of mussel and cannellini bean soup topped with puff pastry, main course of duck breast filled with chestnut puree with timbale of potato and pears in red wine, and pudding of vanilla panna cotta with wild berry wafer. A large selection of wines is available. Access is via the hotel St Ermin's.
