"Completely dismissed my concerns"

A review of Dr Stanley Rom by Vanessa Gray written on Thursday 17th of July 2025

I took my son Charlie to see Dr Stanley Rom way back in 2001. Charlie was about 3 months old and I told Dr Rom that I was worried because my son was not smiling yet. Dr Rom told me "You need to tell him better jokes".

It turns out that my son has severe learning difficulties that were diagnosed shortly after this by another doctor. My son is 25 now and can't speak, read or write and has the mental age of a 2 to 3 year old.

As a new mother frightened that there was something amis with my beloved baby, I will never forget Dr Rom's dismissive treatment of my concerns..
