"I was there - 1951 - 1955"

A review of Fossdene Primary School by Gordon Thrasher written on Tuesday 28th of October 2008

I went to the senior school from 1951 onwards, my teacher throughout the four years was Mr Melanaphy (Flannel) an English teacher. The head was Mr Lidster (Lister?) and there was a Mr Boyd teaching Art Mr Cat teaching Music and Mr Edwards teaching Science Mr Lee took sports and there was also a Mr Brown but I'm not sure what he took. I was a prefect in my last year and was in Wolfe House. Other than that I cannot remember much more, it wasn't the happiest of times on reflection, but Flannel did instill good English into me I think so I thank him for that..
