My Dad (Harry Whetherly) lived a few doors along at 182a Wandsworth Road. He joined the Auxiliary Fire service as a messenger in 1938, promoted in 1939. He was stationed at Springfield Hall and at Priory School which were both used as sub stations during the war. I have a photo of him with other firemen outside Springfield Hall but couldn't paste it to this review. If anyone has any more info please get in touch. Thanks.
