I could write a book about Springfield hall. I lived in brooklands road, which runs alongside into Wandsworth road. my memories start with the play centre which had a Wendy house among other things, one of the best games was being sprayed with water on hot days, little things..... This would have been in about 1948 when I was five years old. Then Sunday school, can't remember the names of the teachers though. Then there was the GLB, didnt do so well in that. Next came youth club, we did have to go to evening services to attend, but the benefits was the canteen and oxo crisps after the service. As someone else said there was a large gamesroom in a sort of basement, the boys played billiards and the girls just talked, no suprise there then. One of the things that fascinated me was that every Easter there would be a large stone in the foyer which represented the resurrection,I would love to see it now as it really was, rather than my imagination, I thought it was wonderful then. The other thing that we did on one occasion was to go around the streets singing carols on the back of a lorry. I can't tell you how cold it was but us kids did enjoy it.

Does anyone remember the 'pictures' on Monday evening in the hall at the back in Crimsowrth road, there was always a religious film and a few cartoons. Loved it.

Griff was a wonderful man, he always had time for everyone.

This place has always been special to me as I spent so much of my childhood there. .
